TWS Statement on the Passing Of Adam Kolton

The Wilderness Society mourns the passing of Adam Kolton and honors his legacy

Washington, D.C. – Jamie Williams, president of The Wilderness Society issued issued the following statement on the sudden and tragic passing of Adam Kolton: 

“We were heartbroken to learn of Adam’s passing. It’s a tragedy for his family, for his friends and colleagues at the Alaska Wilderness League and for the broader conservation community. I was honored to work with such a passionate and tireless champion for public lands, particularly in support of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Adam led with respect for others and with unwavering confidence in our collective vision and strength. He was such a positive force through both tough times and hard-earned victories. We will honor his legacy by continuing the fight to defend wild places, wildlife and the communities that depend on both. Our hearts go out especially to Adam’s wife, Laura, and their two sons as well as to the entire AWL staff and board.”
