Avi Kwa Ame National Monument creation expected soon

Today, The Wilderness Society applauded reports of President Biden's planned trip to Nevada to formally designate Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. 

 

Responding to today's reports, The Wilderness Society Mojave Desert Landscape Director Jose Witt said:

 

“We are excited that the Biden administration has followed through on their promise to protect Avi Kwa Ame National Monument. This is great news for many reasons. For wildlife, Avi Kwa Ame sits in the middle of protected landscapes, and its protection means connecting habitats for wildlife, helping them adapt to a changing climate.”
