On July 28, 2021, The Wilderness Society hosted a webinar on modern art and environmental advocacy with art historian and advocate Chloé Glass. Glass, a Yale art history student, examined Georgia O’Keeffe’s 1971 “Save Our Planet, Save Our Air” print in the context of environmental advocacy of the 1970s and in connection to the contemporary conservation movement.
Viewers left with a better understanding of how art has bolstered the conservation movement over the past 50 years and with a clearer picture of why art remains a powerful medium for inspiring generations of environmental advocates even today.
