The new “Find Your Park” campaign is intended to connect more people with America’s great public lands as the National Park Service’s centennial approaches in 2016.

The National Park Service (NPS) and National Park Foundation launched Find Your Park on March 30 with an eye toward celebrating NPS’ first 100 years and looking to the next 100--specifically, getting more Americans than ever to connect with the treasured places that belong to all of us.

Among other features, Find Your Park offers an online quiz where you can use your own activity preferences to find great public lands to visit close to home.

First Lady Michelle Obama, who serves as honorary co-chair of the National Parks Centennial Celebration with First Lady Laura Bush, hosted a video challenging Americans to “Find Your Park,” invoking her own family’s connection to the newly established Pullman National Monument in Chicago.

In February, President Barack Obama launched the Every Kid in a Park initiative to get more kids playing and learning outdoors. It will provide 4th grade students and their families free admission to all national parks and other federal lands and waters for a full year, support transportation for school trips, and provide educational resources for students and teachers through field classrooms and digital materials.
