The Colorado Plateau is a prime outdoor destination.

There are so many places to visit in the Colorado Plateau that it would probably take a lifetime to see them all. To get you started, we've pulled together just a few of our favorites.

Greater Dinosaur Region

The can’t-miss spots in the Greater Dinosaur Region are:

Canyon of the Ancients

Of the many exciting places in to see in the Dolores River Basin area, one of the most interesting is the Canyon of the Ancients.  With the highest density of archaeological sites in the nation, this canyon is home to the ancestral Pueblo Indians.

Grand Canyon

What can you say about the Grand Canyon? It’s the Grand Canyon. But if you’ve already been there, done that, make sure to check out these areas as well:

Southeastern Utah

The San Rafael Swell and Desolation Canyon are both places to hit for adventure seekers. And Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are must-see parks. The red sandstone cliffs and delicate natural arches of these parks should be on your itinerary if you visit the area.
