Melissa Koskinen serves as the Director of Continuous Improvement & Operations for The Wilderness Society.

In her previous role as the Senior Manager, Continuous Improvement & Integration, Melissa was responsible for initiating, designing and leading a wide variety of special projects that strengthened the organization and enhanced our conservation outcomes. She served as a close partner to the Executive Director to ensure priority projects and strategic initiatives were integrated, well supported and efficiently implemented.

Melissa has been with TWS since 2005. She has led professional development trainings and conferences including Wilderness Week and Women and Wilderness, provided grassroots organizing, outreach and fundraising support to wilderness campaigns, and managed the operations of the Durango, Colorado office. Melissa comes to TWS from the Crested Butte Land Trust where she was responsible for stewardship, outreach, administration and fundraising.

Melissa has a M.Ed. in Education and Human Resource Studies from Colorado State University and a B.A. in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on Human Ecology and a minor in Human Development from Arizona's Prescott College.
