No Child Left Inside

Connecting Washington youth to transformative outdoor experiences

The No Child Left Inside (NCLI) grant program is Washington state’s outdoor equity fund, which provides quality opportunities for underserved and historically excluded youth to learn, play and experience the outdoors. NCLI provides grants for outdoor activities that range from purely recreational to deeply educational. NCLI is a Washington State Parks program administered by the Recreation and Conservation Office.

Since 2015, Washington has invested over $19 million in the NCLI grant program, supporting 302 organizations and nearly 160,000 youth with 5.5 million hours of transformational outdoor experiences.

This biennium, the state provided $1.74 million to 26 organizations, but demand remains high: only 10% of applicants received funding.
