TWS response to news Senate anti-inflation bill will include climate investments
Today, Sen. Joe Manchin and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer announced they have reached a deal on a bill that includes lowering health care costs, addressing climate change and energy issues and levying taxes on higher earners and corporations.
In response to the news, The Wilderness Society issued this statement
Jamie Williams, president of The Wilderness Society said:
“That climate investments are once again part of the Senate anti-inflation bill is beyond encouraging. We are thrilled that Senators Manchin and Schumer were able to reach agreement and make this historic commitment to reaching 40% emissions reductions by 2030. We look forward to seeing the final details on the clean energy and environmental justice provisions, and the contribution of public lands to the climate solution.”
