Connect with Katie

Katie joined The Wilderness Society in 2023 as an Organizing Specialist.

Before joining The Wilderness Society, Katie worked in nonprofit communications and marketing while volunteering as a Community Organizer in Denver. In collaboration with Indigenous Elders and Leaders, she helped establish the Mestaa’ėhehe Coalition to educate Colorado citizens about Indigenous History within the state and rename derogatory and racist placenames.

In the Spring of 2022, Katie began working as a Community Organizing Consultant with TWS in the Denver Metro Area, where she continued to support the effort to rename Mount Evans as Mount Blue Sky, as well as supported the CORE Act Coalition and other TWS public lands campaigns within the state.

Growing up in rural Wisconsin on the Mississippi, she spent her time hiking and kayaking at the local Wildlife Refuge. Inspired by the land and water, she has dedicated her career to environmental justice and sustainability.
