James Mowdy works as the Associate Attorney at TWS.

James Mowdy comes to The Wilderness Society after working in Federal Indian Policy for one of the largest federally recognized tribes. After receiving his Juris Doctor from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, James worked as a Government and Legislative Affairs Associate, where he applied his scholarship and experience with Federal Indian Policy to provide tribal clients with the insight and advisement required to make informed decisions reflected in the realities of the unique legal and political relationship between the U.S. Government and Tribal nations. James is a tribal member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In his free time, James works on refining his collection of grail comics. He also loves the outdoors. You will often find him hiking with his two dogs, kiteboarding, mountain biking, or up in the air as a paragliding pilot.
