Elizabeth "Libby" Truitt joined The Wilderness Society as a Project Attorney in June 2026. Before joining TWS, Libby clerked for the Honorable Judge Harris on the Colorado Court of Appeals and practiced water law at a Boulder-based law firm, where she worked on matters involving water rights and natural resources.
Libby earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2022. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science, with a minor in Greek and Roman Mythology, from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2018.
Libby's passion for conservation began on Maryland's coast, where she grew up swimming, exploring protected beaches and developing a deep appreciation for the natural world.
