Zartosht Ahlers joined The Wilderness Society in 2019 as Energy and Climate Policy Fellow based out of the D.C. office.
Born in Berlin, Germany, Zartosht graduated from Princeton University in 2019 with a degree in Politics, focusing his coursework on environmental justice and human rights. His senior thesis focused on the effect of U.S. border policy on the Tohono O’odham people. Zartosht is passionate about issues relating to climate refugees and will be attending Columbia Law School to better serve this community.
Zartosht’s love of nature originates in the time spent living by his grandparents’ farm in Northwest Germany. In his free-time, Zartosht is an avid runner, rock-climber, and boardgamer and is always searching for new trails to explore.
