Alex is from Chesapeake, VA and received her Bachelor's in Natural Resource Sciences from Washington State University. She most recently served as a Community Engagement Coordinator for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife where she worked to connect communities to the outdoors by fostering an appreciation for and stewardship of wildlife conservation. She brings with her a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility and helping others discover a sense of belonging in the outdoors.

She spends her free time gardening, reading mystery novels, exploring new food and wine restaurants, and planning her next trip. She is also trying to learn how to bake and to harvest her own meat through fishing and hunting.
