Thirty miles southwest of Grand Junction, the 4,249 acres of Granite Creek contains a picturesque red sandstone canyon tributary of the Dolores River. Along the perennial stream for which this area is named, a lush riparian habitat exists containing cottonwoods and box elders. Granite Creek is in one of the most remote and unvisited areas in Colorado.
