With its convoluted topography, screening vegetation, and wide variety of plant and animal species, the Bitter Creek unit provides outstanding opportunities not only for solitude, but also for primitive and unconfined recreation. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, photography, and wildlife viewing are all popular in the area, and backpacking and horseback riding opportunities are abundant given the unit’s size and its many scenic side canyons.
