The Wilderness Society works with numerous conservation organizations in Virginia, including:

Clinch Coalition
Founded to focus mainly on the Clinch Ranger District of the Jefferson National Forest, the Clinch Coalition has taken the lead in trying to block the devastating Bark Camp timber sale at High Knob.

Virginia Forest Watch
Virginia Forest Watch, a 500-member group, has worked on both private and public lands issue since its founding in 1990, and has paid particular attention to issues on both the Jefferson and George Washington National Forests. It monitors timber sales and advocates for additional wilderness protection. In 2002 the group pushed successfully for a state law that penalizes loggers if they fail to provide notification before logging on private lands. Virginia Forest Watch was also instrumental in designation of The Priest and Three Ridges Wilderness Areas in 2000.

Virginia Wilderness Committee
It is no surprise to Virginians that the Old Dominion State contains some of best wild country in the Southern Appalachians. And the non-profit Virginia Wilderness Committee seeks permanent wilderness protection of the best of it on the Jefferson and George Washington National Forests.
