  • Ojito Wilderness Act Passed by House, On Way to President’s Desk

  • On Tuesday, October 18, 2005, the U.S. House of Representative voted unanimously to approve S. 156, the Ojito Wilderness Act of 2005. By approving the Senate-passed bill, the House ensured that the measure would head directly to President Bush’s desk. The President is expected to sign the bill in the next week or two.
     
  • California Gets New Wild and Scenic River

  • Earlier this month, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation adding 31 miles of Cache Creek to the California Wild & Scenic Rivers System.
